The Daughter of Mary (Bannabikira)

The Society of the Missionaries of Africa, also commonly known as “The White Fathers” is the oldest Institute in the diocese. The Missionaries of Africa is the pioneer Institute in the whole of Uganda. Currently, the Society has three communities; Tobi Kizza Community based in Nyamitanga area. Some members at Tobi Kizza community serve at the Chaplaincy of Corpus Christi-Mbarara University of Science and Technology another member works as a chaplain of St. Joseph’s Vocational School-Mbarara.

The Second Community takes care of the ministry in Katete Parish which was opened on 13 March 2022. Another team of members of the same Society live in Kitabi Parish where the community hosts a retreat Centre and a community of elderly confreres. Some of the community members at Kitabi serve at the Chaplaincy of Kampala International University- Western Campus.
