The Association of Ambulance Professionals Uganda Emergency Medical Services have completed training UCMB ,hospital nurses and drivers in basic life support and first aid course held from 23rd to 25th June 2025 at Bishop Kakubi Memorial Hall Archdiocese of Mbarara.
The aim of the the three days training was to equip selected nurses and drivers with the up-to-date skills to recognise life threatening conditions and acquire a skill set to provide BLS wherever required. Managing Unconsciousness (Mentioning the common potential causes, skilling participants with Identifying the Breathing and Circulation signs of life. Demonstrating the Recovery Position and special Considerations of pregnant women and those suspected to be having spine injuries. And Preforming Effective Chest Compressions)
Managing choking (Recognizing a choking person and providing the cycle of intervention)
Fracture management and muscles, bones and joint injuries (Demonstrating immobilisation bandaging and splinting skills)
Bleeding (Recognising external bleeding, internal bleeding and controlling external bleeding)
First Aid management of burns, poisoning, and snake bites and dog bites (Defining burns, frostbite, describing the severity as per surface area and encouraging cooling of the burnt area.
The Most Rev. Lambert Bainomugisha, the Archbishop of Mbarara, placed the first brick.
That evening, the sun cast golden light over the gathering as the choir sang hymns of joy and hope. the construction site, once a banana plantation, now brimmed with purpose. 16th May 2025 marked the beginning not just for the walls and beams, but also of hope.
Archbishop Lambert Bainomugisha, robed in white and red, stepped forward, his hands steady despite the heavy bricks. He held the first brick as though it were sacred, its rough edges. The Archbishop’s voice rang clear as he offered a prayer for shelter, peace, and unity.
Then, with reverent care, he placed the brick on to the foundation. A murmur of joy rippled through the crowd, followed by applause and a hand claps. For the people gathered, this wasn’t just a house being built, it was a home for the Bishop in the future, a place where generations would gather in joy and sorrow, love and grace. And so, amid laughter, prayers, and the echo of hammers waiting to begin, the foundation of something beautiful was laid.
We are delighted to announce the upcoming Diaconate and Priestly Ordination to be held on the 17th of August, 2024, at Nyamitanga Cathedral. This significant event in the Archdiocese of Mbarara will be graced by the presence of our esteemed Archbishop, who will confer the sacrament of Holy Orders upon the candidates.
