About The Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church
The Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church is of a Diocesan Right whose Mother House and Generalate is in the Diocese of Lira. It was founded by Bishop Ceasar Asili the then Local Ordinary of Lira Diocese.
One of their apostolate in the diocese is the care of Ibanda Babies Home where they receive and take care of abandoned children. They also have a community at Uganda Martyrs Parish in Mbarara City where they do assist in the parish teaching catechumens, and other members help in running the Catholic Social Centre Hall and the Diocesan Bookshop.
There are two other communities involved in Health sector; some sisters are in charge of Comboni Hospital-Kyamuhunga in Bushenyi District and others in charge of Nyakatsiro Health Centre III in Mitooma District.
